Crafty Market Report

It’s good to read you’re all anxious to know how it went. :) I won’t keep you in suspense any longer. It went great! We sold a lot more than we had anticipated in advance. We actually sold so much (184 euro to be precise) that we are finally making a bit of profit! Of course, we have to reinvest that profit to make new products, but we’re finally getting there! A lot of people took our visiting cards and leaflets with them and there were also some people who asked us whether we had a web shop as well, so hopefully we’ll get some orders from that in the future. You can take a look at our stand (and us) by clicking on the two pictures below. (Large images, so be patient!)

According to several people we were the best stand at the market. I don’t know whether that’s true, but I do know we did better than most of the other stands. It was really great to see the reactions of people when they first see and smell our soaps. We had placed testers on the table, so people could actually smell the soaps. The combination of how they looked and how they smelled did it for most people. Amelie (orange/cinnamon-scent and brown/orange looking) is totally sold out! Chocolate and Sweet Coffee (both vanilla scented), Oatmeal, Milk and Honey (cinnamon-scent) and Poppy (anise-scent) also went very well. It’s funny that Nude, the soap we’ve sold most through the internet didn’t sell well at all. Most people preferred Vincent Vega over Nude, because the VV doesn’t contain any animal products and is vegetarian. Most people didn’t even know normal soap often contains animal fats, so we were able to teach people a bit as well. We were also able to see whether there was any interest in our Milk Bath, Sample Bags, Lip balms and Fizzes. It was a very good learning experience for everyone! At the end of the day we were exhausted, aching everywhere, but extremely content. We're definately doing it again next year!

For Skwuigjes: Nizza and myself are definately going to the Train-meet, so if you're coming too and want to order some soaps, mail us! Those who order first have the biggest chance that the soaps they want are still in stock. I hope I'll be able to go to the Den Bosch meet as well, but I don't know yet. I'll let you know Wednesday.
