The first real job

I have a job. It’s a temporary job and it’s not entirely what I was looking for, but I actually have a job! I start working at the ABN AMRO in Eindhoven this Wednesday and I’ll be able to work there until at least the end of this year, but probably some more months after that. I’ll be an administrative worker with a supporting function in which I will be assisting mortgage specialist. It’s a good job to start my career with, because it’ll give me some much needed working experience. I found the job through Vedior, an employment agency. It all went really fast, because they needed someone immediately, preferably yesterday. :)

I went there yesterday for a conversation and the people I’ve met so far are all really nice. The impression I got was that the atmosphere was open and very good. It seems like a pleasant place to work. It’s going to be a lot of hard work though, because there’s time pressure and everything, but I don’t mind. Of course, I haven’t actually started working yet, so maybe I’ll think differently in a week time. :)

It’s still surreal that I’ve graduated last Friday and start working tomorrow. I never thought I would find a job this quickly. Even though it’s not entirely what I’d like to do, I’ll be able to make my own money and gain experience. That’s a lot better than sitting at home, unemployed. I mean, I’m only 22, so there’s plenty of opportunity and time to work at other places as well in the future. I have a job! Woei!
